5. 46-year-old female suffered from sore throat and fever. A partial resection of the unilaterally enlarged thyroid gland was performed.

 6. Female mid 60's, left thyroid mass, cytology follicular lesion, left thyroid lobectomy weighing 39g with a mass occupying most of the lobe.

    6) Ok guys I completely understand the the possibility of this being medullary and we would totally confirm the diagnosis with a calcitonin BUT in fact if you look at the nuclei there are nucleoli which you shouldnt have in a neuroendocrine tumor and this woman is a little older than your average (of course that is just average) medullary and while not necessary for the diagnosis there is no amyloid present.

    6) Actually represents a poorly differentiated thyroid ca.
    Turin Criteria:
    Must have 1) solid, trabecular, or insular growth
    2) Must lack papillary nuclear features
    3) Either convoluted nuclei OR necrosis OR >3mitoses/HPF
