Slide 29) Calcifying aponeurotic fibroma
Benign, slowly growing, painless mass, usu hands and feet
Usu in first or second decade, has 3 phases.
Early phase: fascicles of spindled fibroblasts, chondroid foci few calcs,
Middle Phase: fibroblasts are arranged in fascicles, chondroid foci with granular calcifications and giant cells
Late phase: calcification increases, less chondroid and cellularity diminishes
This is probably mid-late as there is abundant granular calcification with little chondroid
Slide 30) Fibrous hamartoma of infancy
