ReplyDelete6) Ok guys I completely understand the the possibility of this being medullary and we would totally confirm the diagnosis with a calcitonin BUT in fact if you look at the nuclei there are nucleoli which you shouldnt have in a neuroendocrine tumor and this woman is a little older than your average (of course that is just average) medullary and while not necessary for the diagnosis there is no amyloid present.
6) Actually represents a poorly differentiated thyroid ca.
Turin Criteria:
Must have 1) solid, trabecular, or insular growth
2) Must lack papillary nuclear features
3) Either convoluted nuclei OR necrosis OR >3mitoses/HPF
